Recipe for Daal Fry
Ingredents: 1 cup dhuli urad ki daal (husked black gram)2 tbsp ghee1/2 tsp cumin seeds 1/8 tsp asafoetida1 tbsp ginger-shredded thinly1 tsp green chillies- shredded thinly or to taste1/2 tsp turmeric1 tsp salt or to taste1/2 tsp chilli powderfried, browned onions for garnish
Method:
Wash the daal till the water runs clear and then soak in 2 cups of hot water for 2 hours.Heat the ghee, and add cumin and asafoetida. Add ginger and green chillies, saut? little and add the daal. Turn around to mix well, and add the turmeric, salt and chilli powder. Add 2 cups hot water, bring to a boil and lower the heat, cook covered for about 10 minutes. Serve hot garnished with the fried onions.
